There was a time when hats were a stable piece of everyone’s wardrobe. Women were spotted wearing all different styles from the straw hat to the sporty beret and the musketeer hat, but men were notorious for rocking fedoras. For men, the classic fedora was as much a necessity as a shirt, tie, shoes, and wristwatch. I’m getting inspired thinking of such impeccable style.
For a long time, the slouchy beanie was my go-to hat. I’ve recently added the fedora to my wardrobe for a more sophisticated look. There’s something about a fedora and topcoat or fedora and tailored suit that screams elegance. Wouldn’t you agree?
A few weeks ago, I picked out this classic fedora from Bailey Hat Company. My first thought was to choose a black hat, but brown seemed like a funnier option. Not to mention, the color works well with just about all of my suits.
There were so many exciting layers to this look. The outer layer is classic and a winter favorite for men’s style: a topcoat, multi-colored scarf, and fedora. BUT… Remove that coat, and you have a completely different look and vibe.
By now, you should know how much I love suit separates. I paired these trendy suit trousers with an oversized cardigan, a pocketless denim shirt, and Chelsea boots. To be honest, I felt like a modern-day cowboy, all that was missing was the bolo tie.
