A white button-up shirt is a must in your wardrobe! Whether you are dressing it up with a suit or sweater and slacks to wear to the office or nowadays, a Zoom meeting, the white button-up is a classic piece to keep you looking polished. On the flip side, it’s also perfect for weekend brunch dates, casual wear, and even athleisure, and loungewear. It is hands down one of the most versatile pieces that should be in your closet!
One of the things to keep in mind when searching for a white button-up is that you have more options available than just the classic white button-up. It’s all about stepping outside the box and possibly testing newer styles.
Here are some men’s and women’s options that may help to raise or elevate your style choices:
Oversized White Button-Up Shirts for Androgynous and Masculine Presenting Style
Keep things casual yet chic with an oversized white button-up. Going oversized gives the white shirt a refreshing look all while redirecting your style.
Your oversized white button-up is just as chic as your classic white button-up. Wear it closed or open with a bold pair of pants. Whether under a blazer, jacket, or chunky sweater, the oversized style is meant to feel casual so don’t feel the need to overdue it.

Casual White Cotton Shirt
The cotton white button-up pairs well with everything! It’s super versatile, relaxed, and oh so comfortable. Wear it with shorts, jeans, sweats, slacks, you name it! Again, the idea is to keep it simple. If anything, accessorize with a necklace, watch and/or bracelet. All you’re going for is chic and comfy.

The Tuxedo Shirt
The tuxedo shirt is as formal as they come. It’s generally worn with a tux to a black-tie event! However, you know I’m not one for following ‘traditions’ but I do like to step outside of the box and encourage y’all of you to wear what you like when you like.
Since this shirt is a bit more formal looking I do think that it looks more sophisticated and polished with pants or trousers. Now that doesn’t mean you have to tuck it in. Wear it loose and untucked or even half tucked. Glam it up with a denim jacket and some accessories. This is a shirt that you can have so much fun with!

Shacket Button-Up
I’m so happy that I’ve add the shacket to my Fall wardrobe. What I love most about the shirt/jacket or ‘shacket’ is that is looks like a shirt but it’s also a warm layering piece similar to a jacket. You can layer it on top of a t-shirt, button up, sweater, or turtleneck like I’m showing below. It’s a piece that can be worn but casually or dapper.
Note: I have yet to come across a true white shacket button-up, but the off-white is close enough 😉

She’s a Gent Reminder
It doesn’t take much effort to look classic or traditional, but why be traditional when you were born to be unique!
