Gender Neutral Fragrances

I don’t know about y’all, but I don’t just like to look nice, I like to smell nice as well. More specifically, I try to align the fragrance that I choose to wear with my mood and style of the day.

The beauty industry has always been a ‘traditional’ space. It can be challenging to escape labels like powdered pedal fragrances for women or musky woods for men. However, after a lot of trial and error, I’ve found some gender neutral fragrances ranging from subtle scents to pungent and even truly bold note fragrances.

Here are five gender neutral fragrances that may help compliment who you are!

Jean Paul Gaultier ‘Le Male'($75)Gender Neutral Fragrances: Masculine Presenting Women

This signature fragrance by Jean Paul Gaultier is labeled as a men’s cologne, but if you ask me, it should definitely be categorized as gender neutral. With aromatic scents of mint, lavender, and vanilla, this classic casual fragrance is perfect for folx that prefer a sporty-casual style over suits. It’s the fragrance that I wear most when I’m in a casual look like a t-shirt, jeans, and chelsea boots.

Ralph Lauren Polo Red Extreme Eau de Parfum ($90)

Another fragrance labeled as a men’s cologne is Ralph Lauren’s Polo Red Extreme Parfum. This sweet blend of blood orange, black coffee, and ebony wood is one of my favorite fragrances. The cologne is fresh and bold, but not overpowering. It’s a fragrance that I would wear to a weekend brunch with my wife. It’s a sweet but still powerful scent that I’d feel confident wearing to an event or even the office.  Now if you ask my wife, she loves when I pair the Polo Red with some lounge casual wear like a jacket, hoody, and Uggs.

Gender Neutral Fragrances: Masculine Presenting WomenJo Malone ($115 for a set of 5)

I have been wearing Jo Malone for a decade and honestly, there hasn’t been a fragrance that I didn’t like. Apart from the perfect combinations of scents, what I love most about Jo Malone is that their fragrances were created to be gender neutral. In fact, my wife and I share all of our Jo Malone fragrances for that very reason.

Jo Malone offers an array of scents from subtle light floral fragrances to powerful wood notes. In my personal opinion, Jo Malone is a cologne that can be worn for every occasion. I recommend buying the .3oz collection set so that you can sample a few different fragrances.

Reiss Grey Flower ($95)

Reiss Grey Flower is the only fragrance that I currently own from the women’s department. While I may present as masculine and even have a dominant personality, I also have those days where I’m feeling a little more feminine. On those days, especially when I’m wearing a suit, I wear the Reiss Grey Flower Parfum. It’s a classic and timeless fragrance with notes of amber crystals, patchouli, jasmine noir, and wood. I like to think of it as a bold and powerful fragrance for a confident and grounded womxn.

It’s also another one of those fragrances that both my wife and I share.

Sadly, I learned that Reiss discontinued the fragrance. However, I’ve stumbled upon it at perfume warehouses. So it just takes a little research to find it. Trust me, it’s worth it!

Gender Neutral Fragrances: Masculine Presenting WomenGiorgio Armani’s Armani Code Profumo Eau de Parfum ($120)

I had to save the best for last. Armani Code Profumo is hands down my favorite fragrance and also the one fragrance that my wife will not let me wear without her. Honestly, I don’t blame her. Armani Code has the perfect balance of masculine and sensual intensity. Notes include wood, ambers, tonka bean, and cardamom. If that isn’t enough of a description for you, the words that come to mind when I think of this fragrance are enticing, lustful, confident, and sexy!

If you’re looking for a fragrance that helps you feel like your best self, Armani Code is it!

It’s my go-to fragrance for those big events or romantic occasions.

I want us all to feel like our best selves and having a good beauty and fragrance regiment are a huge part of the process. Feel free to leave me a note below and let me know if this was a helpful post.  I’m always up for recommendations on some other beauty topics that you’d like me to share as well.

Love y’all ❤️
