Casual Tee and Trousers

Dear Mother Nature,

What ever happened to Spring? New York City skipped right over comfortably warm days and cool nights and went straight for a scorching summer. No warning or anything. Sheesh it’s HOT, can we get a storm or something?!

I guess I really have turned into a New Yorker. We have something to say no matter what season it is.

Casual Tee and Trousers

Last month, my go-to was a short sleeve button up tucked into trousers. Recently, I’ve traded in the button up for a casual tee and trousers. The relaxed sartorial look is super comfy and professional.

Do you work in a lax’d corporate environment? If so, then this look is perfect for you! An office tip: keep a sweater or jacket at your desk because you may get chilly under the air conditioning.

If you’re a freelancer like myself, then I highly recommend this casual ensemble. The trousers are key to maintaining a polished business-like aesthetic. Also, I tend to wear drivers or loafers with this get up. I even grab a clutch if I’m feeling jazzy. Once you’ve put all that together, the outfit screams chic yet professional. Don’t you agree?

Shop the look!

The best part is that the look is super affordable. You can purchase t-shirts from Uniqlo for just 10 bucks! They’re 100% cotton, extremely soft, and come in an array of colors.

When I’m not wearing custom trousers, I tend to wear Topman. The UK brand never disappoints. If you’re shopping on a budget then you’re going to love their sale section. Sadly, my size is hard to come by, so I tend to shop the $50 dress pants. Also, for more bold prints and patterns, check out the casual pants.

Let’s not forget about the shoes; my favorite piece of the puzzle. I recommend the classic penny loafer by G.H. Bass. The shoe maybe $110, but it’s worth every penny. Also, Bass always offers discounts so your purchase may be less than $100 unless you decide to get two pairs. Anywho… the loafer is super versatile. It can be worn with just about anything from jeans to trousers, suits, and even shorts. Hmm… come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve yet worn them with shorts. Well, keep a look out because now I plan to.

Enough of my rambling! Leave a comment below and let me know if you’d like more shopping tips. Happy shopping!!!
