2020…
I’ve been on a rollercoaster ride full of emotions since May. Honestly, I never know or how my mood is going to shift. Some days I feel so in tune with the universe as if I can feel it shifting to what I’ve been manifesting. Then other days I feel blah and can’t even explain what the feeling of blah is. Now I know I’m not the only person experiencing this. I mean even our beloved former First Lady Michelle Obama has said that she’s been going through it too!!
I guess all of these feelings are to be expected after so many horrific instances!
There was the devastating helicopter crash that took the lives of Kobe and Gigi Bryant along with 7 other victims on board.
This deadly virus that is plaguing the entire world and there’s no vaccine to help combat it.
Our being forced inside so as to stop the spread of the virus.
Many of us are receiving none or barely any human interaction outside of our partners or families.
President #45… where do I begin about him!!!!
Black people being harassed, targeted, and even killed while the world watches.
Trans people being beaten, targeted for simply being themselves, and even viciously killed.
During this new revolution, we lost the incomparable John Lewis.
California has been on fire for what seems like forever and the South is getting hit with back to back hurricanes.
We lost the ever steadfast Ruth Bader Ginsberg and another Conservative Judge is about to replace her 😩
Have I missed anything? Honestly, after listing all of that and knowing I left things out, I think my feelings are justified.
The thing is……we don’t have time to be emotional and downtrodden because there’s way too much at stake!!
As I continue to experience this wave of emotions, I constantly remind myself of what the late Nipsey Hussle once said, “this is a marathon not a race.” Just as it’s important to reflect and understand all that I’m feeling, it’s equally important to remain focused, resilient, hopeful, and grounded!
I hope that each of you continue to carve out personal time for yourselves and spend time with loved ones so as to keep your minds clear and surrounded by love and positivity.
We have a long road ahead towards true freedom and equality, but remember, the time for freedom and the time for justice is always, ALWAYS RIGHT NOW!!!
