This New York Pride 2017 I had the honor and privilege of partnering with dapperQ (a queer style and empowerment website). dapperQ partnered with Target to produce a Youth Pop-up Fashion (for young adults ages 18-21) as part of NYC Pride’s 2017 inaugural Youth Pride event. The show consisted of 10 young LGBQT+ youth of all walks of life that were each given $100 gift cards to purchase looks that best represented their identity.
I was selected, alongside Anita Dolce Vita of dapperQ, to style, assist, and support the 10 young adults in putting together their best Target look. We shopped for the looks on the morning of June 18th at the TriBeca Target location. The outfits were revealed on June 24th at the pop-up runway fashion show at NYC Youth Pride. This was the first ‘official’ NYC Pride event organized for teens and their families.
It was an AMAZING day! I was so honored to help assist the future leaders and fashionistas of our communities, to partner with Target, and to co-produce the event with my great friends and fellow fashion experts Anita Dolce Vita (dapperQ) and Kim Geronimo (The Street Sensei).
