Typically, fashionistas will wait until the warmer seasons roll around to introduce florals into their wardrobes, but y’all know me and I’m all about breaking those fashion faux pas. Thus, I introduce to you winter florals.
Just like all of my custom suits, there is back story for this single-breasted floral piece. Shortly after the news broke that POSE was nominated for an Emmy Award, Shao suggested that I start thinking about my future award and runway looks. I mean talk about someone who 100% supports you, your dreams, and future. I’m not going to lie, I often think about and manifest my future awards and speeches, don’t judge me lol. Nah for real. It is amazing and a blessing to have so many people, like Shao, supporting my journey.
Bold Winter Florals
At the end of last year, The Tailory NYC add a new book of fabric into their collection, one of which included this floral print. As soon as I laid eyes on it, I was sold. The vibrant colors and rich details are captivating! Not to mention, this isn’t a pattern that you’d find on the racks of mainstream fashion houses, which means it’s unique and all mine. The prints jaw-dropping, head turning effect is simply enough. No need to add additional, distracting accessories or colors, so I kept it clean and simple. A black button up and black lace shoes was all that was needed to highlight the winter floral. Remember, sometimes, less is more.
