As I play catch up on travel blog posts like my Liberty Fairs recap and, think back to how many times I’ve visited the city over the years, I realize that I have never shared recommendations for Las Vegas. So, here are some of my favorite things to do and other helpful tips for your next trip to Las Vegas.
Whether it’s your first trip to Vegas or you consider yourself a veteran, one thing is for sure: Las Vegas will always surprise you. Since 1905 when the city was officially founded, Las Vegas has attracted visitors from around the globe on the merit of the entertainment that it provides. From the early years when it was synonymous with gambling and mobsters, it has evolved to be a city that elicits excitement and a welcome break from the ordinary. Whether you are going to get married by Elvis, attending a bachelorette party, or just going for the casinos and vibe, Las Vegas has got you covered.
With so many ways to spend your time (and money), how can you make the most of your time in Sin City?
Have A Plan
Although chances are high that you won’t stick to a rigid itinerary, if you do your homework before you go, you’ll be able to get a rough idea about what you would like to do. The Strip is long, it’s 4 miles, and so you don’t want to waste time traversing across the city to different hot spots when you could have done them in some semblance of order.
Casinos
Where else in the world has casinos that are resorts in themselves? The casinos of Las Vegas are out of this world; whether you fancy the glamour of the Bellagio, the gondoliers of the Venetian or want to be part of the Rat Pack at the iconic Caesar’s Palace, it is easy to lose several hours in these amazing casinos.
The cocktail waitresses will bring you free drinks to keep you on the casino tables, so soak it up and have a great time. You can even order IV hydration therapy from a company such as Reset IV to come directly to your accommodation to help you combat your hangover; everything in Vegas is geared up towards you having a great time.
Book A Show
You should not go to Las Vegas and fail to book tickets to one of the many great shows that are open to you. There are so many big-name performers that visit Las Vegas, and the lineup is always evolving. Whereas in times gone by the casinos and gambling were the big draws, nowadays the famous residencies make a huge impact on the tourism figures. Past performers include Elton John, Brittany Spears, and Celine Dione is a regular. Book your tickets in advance to ensure that you can get a seat but keep an eye out on the listings of the smaller venues while you are there – you may strike it lucky and see a future star!
Once you have tired of the city lights and culture, you should aim to visit the Grand Canyon. Its beauty and scale will both astound and rejuvenate you. The contrast between the city and this stunning natural environment is severe, but it is the perfect end to a trip to Las Vegas and will make you want to return again and again.
