In collaboration with State Farm ®. All thoughts are my own.
This year, marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, Pride Month was even more special than in the past. The streets, subways, and the city was full of rainbow flags and positive energy. People from all over celebrated their existence and enjoyed the autonomy to live life the way they want to live.
In a world full of trends, it can feel a little scary to start your own trend and be yourself, especially as a young adult. Instead of telling our youth who they should be, we should encourage them to walk in their truth, because what makes them powerful is that they are unique! Their identity and individuality should be celebrated; we should create safe, inclusive environments and encourage them to continue to be free and authentic. This is why I am excited to team up with State Farm to support GLSEN, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating safer and more inclusive schools for LGBTQ+ youth!
Here to Help
State Farm believes in stronger neighborhoods and that all youth deserve to feel safe and included in school. This year, in support of World Pride, the brand created a digital activation pop-up that allowed for Pride attendees to have the opportunity to make a difference in youth lives across the country. Words matter! So, State Farm thought what better way to encourage our LGBTQ+ youth than with empowering messages. What better way to encourage and empower our future leaders than to show them how much we care about them.
