Style should be born out of exploration, reflection, courage, commitment, joy, integrity, and comfort. As a boundary pusher and status quo disrupter, my goal, through fashion, is to create a space that inspires others to be free enough to be them!
Express Yourself
Fashion should be about self-expression and championing the right to be yourself. Thankfully, there are others out there like me who believe that fashion do’s and don’ts are a thing of the past. For example, it’s not a fopaux to wear white in the winter or monochromatic outfits. Exploring fashion lawlessly can be a lot of fun, but also challenging when it comes to transitioning into a new season.
I could go on and on, but I’m not here to tell you what to wear. However, I do have one suggestion, learn and understand what fabrics and materials are most comfortable and practical (i.e – wools during the Fall/Winter seasons and linens and light cottons during the Spring/Summer months).
So what does this mean for my closet? Retiring my cable knit wool cardigans and breaking out my merino wool sweaters. They are not the warmest, but they are super soft so they can be worn without anything underneath. On cooler days, I tend to wear button-ups or T-shirts with them. When it’s warmer out, I’ll wear the sweater by itself and roll up the sleeves. In my opinion, merino wool sweaters are extremely versatile and comfortable year-round pieces that will never go out of style.
